Singing in the Rain

Line Drawing of Sasha Pivovarovas face by danny roberts

Why Happy Sunday early morning friends!
Just got back from hanging with my friends, the Baxleys,
and i saw "Singing in the Rain" for the first time,
which was awesome!
Now i have a huge crush on Debbie Reynolds (the leading lady in the movie).
Oh and i started sketching up some clothes designs
cause i think my friend Alice and I are going to make a small handmade Collection sometime in the future...
and there are a few outfits i think that are going to be pretty fun.
Well, the drawing above i did a few years back, i drew it in the car while on a road trip.
i hope you like it! :)

Hello friends!
Sorry about the belated Inspiration Friday post!
Last night, my brother and i had dinner with Helen Zhu (ceo of Chictopia.com)
and we were having so much fun that the dinner turned into a 5 hour dinner! haha
So, needless to say, i arrived home a little late, so that is why Inspiration Friday is now Inspiration Saturday!
The theme this week is "I Would Travel Through Fire For You".
I really like how the collection of images turned out!
I hope you like it, too!
I'm excited cause we are decorating for Christmas today!! Woot, woot! :)
So i must get going cause, in the words of the White Rabbit, "I'm Late, I'm Late, for a very important date!"
Merry Christmas! ;)

P.S. If you know who any of the photographers of these pictures are, i would love to give them credit. Just let me know and i will.
The first picture of Sasha is by Miles Aldridge, i think. ;) The Second Row picture by Sarah Moon. Also, i think the 3rd image is by Toulouse Lautrec. The B&W image on the fourth picture set is by Steven Meisel.

P.s.s Got a new hair cut! haha don't know if you care... just need something new to post in the image diary! ha hope you like it. :)

The Ladies of Meisel

Danny Roberts Sketch of Steven Miesel picture of Gemma Ward and a few other models nude in a tube

Hello, my friends. How did your day go???
Mine flew by so fast.
Since you all had so many nice words about the Character Sketchbook....
I thought i'd post an image from Volume 3 of the Character Sketchbook,
(which is the Volume i am currently working on).
This picture is from a photoshoot of one of my favorite photographers, Steven Meisel.
I thought i would censore the painting cause i wouldn't want anyone to be offended :)
But if you want to see the original version of the picture Click Here.
I hope you like it!

So i was sitting looking at some fashion collections from a few years ago,
which makes me have a few questions for you...
1: What year in the 2000's do you think had the best Fashion Collections?
2: What year in the 2000's do you think had the best editorials?
3: What year in the 2000's do you think had the best models?

I got my answers... Excited to hear your thoughts! :)

Hey Friends,
Wow, i can't believe New York Fashion Week is right around the corner!
My brother and I fly out in 4 days! How crazy is that!
I have some clothes arriving and have a fitting tomorrow!
I'm really really excited to see how they turned out!

Also, I wish i could show you a few paintings i did for some clients this week,
but i can't yet... just wait. It's coming out soon! :)
Also, sorry i didn't post this inspiration friday yesterday...
but i guess, here it is.
This series of images i put together for the inspiration book for the collaboration art project i'm doing.
I'm sorry i don't know who the photographers who took the images are..
I do know that one of the paintings is by an incredible painter named "Joe Sorren"
I hope you like the images!
i hope you're doing great :)

A Model Skeleton

Artist Danny Roberts drawing of Sasha Pivovarova in a Skeleton

Hey, Hey, Hey. How are you all doing today?!
Wow, i had a long one.
Been working a lot lately...
How is the week going for you?
Anything exciting happening?
The drawing today brings back old memories;
i drew this almost 3 years ago in Volume 1 of my Character Sketchbook.
I actually don't have the original drawing of this anymore,
I gave to Gemma Ward a year and a half ago when she and Sophie came over.
We were sitting going through the Character Sketchbook drawings,
which was really fun and interesting cause i love sharing my drawing with my drawing subject-matter!
But anyways, she picked this one out as one of her favorites, so i gave it to her.
Awe, good times. Shoot, makes me miss my Australian sista Sophie so much ;(
Well, my friends, i hope you enjoy this line drawing!

A Ballerina Named Sasha

Drawing number 70 out of Artist Danny Roberts Character Sketchbook of Sasha Pivovarova

Hello, friends! How was your day?
Mine was great; been working on a painting. Hopefully i will have it done by tomorrow...
It's a really fun picture, full of major fashion "Power Players". Hah
I'm working on it for one of my friends. I think it's going to turn out nice. :)

Oh, ok, so the drawing today is Drawing #70 out of volume one of my Character Sketchbook.
Wow! It seems like light years ago that i drew this picture...
ah... such simple times... :)
I think this was one of the first color pictures in the Sketchbook.
The picture was drawn with these super cheap fine tip pens,
and it was of Sasha Pivovarova.
She looked to me like a Ballerina in it.
I don't know why, but i think i've always had a crush on ballerinas.
They're so graceful and magical!
Like Cate Blanchett in the "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"... so wonderful!

Well, my friends, I hope you are doing great!
Right now... not sure why, but i have a big 'ol headache right now... ah! not good...
but good night :)
