Nylon Mexico - Shirt Feature

Nylon Mexico Feature of the Girls in Glasses Shirt

Well, i've been painting today,
and still have a painting i will post tonight, dont worry,
but i wanted to do a "Press" post,
cause a few magazines and newspapers have been nice enough to feature, use my work, and interview me.
It's been amazing and crazy over the last few days.
Like out of nowhere i saw my handbags featured on The Home Shopping Network yesterday!
haha i was tripping out! First time i've seen my work on TV! It was fun, my mom and i were tripping out.
But yea, first off, i want to thank Nylon Mexico for featuring my Girls in Glasses Shirt in their June/July Music Issue.
Also, yesterday, the Examiner.com posted an interview i did with them.
If you want to read it Click Here.
And thank you to Marie Claire Spain for featuring my Cover on your post today. :)

I'm going to have the new painting up in a little while.
Also, i am starting a monthly email newsletter, to update & alert you all on news, events, and new products, etc.
If you want to get the updates, enter your email address in the form below! Hope you're doing great. ;)

Abandoned Romp

Abandoned Romp
It's probably totally weird, but I was beyond ecstatic that I had matching lipstick for this vintage romper. It's the little things in life. This is another Delightful Dozen swap, this time around from the lovely Kristin.

Cole and I were close to perishing during this shoot. It was 99 degrees out with 100% humidity. We had to stop every few minutes for Cole to wipe the sweat that was trying obstruct his vision. Another reason I'm lucky to have Cole. Who else would suffer such inhumanity for a photo shoot? No one that wasn't crazy in love with me, that's for sure.

Jess LC- The Franklin Collection Lookbook!

I'm so excited to announce the launch of Jess LC- The Franklin Collection!
Jess LC Franklin Lookbook
Jess had the brilliant idea of letting her readers pick the "intentions." After receiving hundreds of submissions, her readers voted and decided on the following five: Be Present, Be Brave, Breathe, Be Thankful and Dream Bigger. I love that each 14k gold vermeil pendant has the intention in braille on front and the meaning in English on back.
FranklinMessagesMML
Having worked with Tieka before, Jess was kind enough to offer the Delightful Dozen the opportunity to style our own braille necklace, with the intention of our choice for the lookbook. So can you guess, which intention I chose...

I'm delighted to be featured along with my
friends Julia Frakes, Jane Keltner De Valle of Teen Vogue, and Tommy Ton, as well as
Leith Clark of the wonderful Lula Magazine, Anne-Catherine Frey, and Prabal Gurung. What an honor!
The issue was featuring vacations for summer.
I sent a picture of me drawing in my friend Alice's parents' house
on the north shore of the island of Oahu. I was with a group of
my very close friends and after a long day in the ocean and the sun
I came inside to rest and draw in my sketchbook. : )
Thank you so much to Vogue Girl for including me!

Style Yourself Giveaway!

Style Yourself
I'm having a surreal blogging moment. The lovely people at Weldon Owen have just released a new book, Style Yourself, which happens to feature yours truly! For more on the book and a chance to win a copy of your very own, read below...
Style Yourself
I have this habit of buying style books on a whim. Being that I tend to be a bit all over the place, I usually gravitate towards the type that tell me how to streamline my style to a few key looks. It helps me feel less cluttered and more sophisticated. What usually happens after reading these books is that I purge my wardrobe and feel infinitely clutter-free but less unique. The question is how to find that perfect balance of individuality and adaptability. Style Yourself seems to have found the answer. Starting with wardrobe basics (i.e. build your wardrobe, shop smarter and be your own stylist) helps create a foundation from which to begin. From there they help you explore the fun side of fashion with remixes, pattern play and more.

So my Friends...
I'm pleased to announce the most amazing thing ever...
My Tribute painting of Lee Alexander Mcqueen is on the cover of The Sunday Times Magazine -London!
Seriously, my mind has been blown for the last 2 weeks when I found out that my tribute painting was going to be on the cover...
I mean, I think this is the most humbling honor ever.
McQueen has been by far my favorite designer since I first started studying Fashion Design.
He was the source of inspiration for countless paintings and Art pieces.
Never in my wildest imagination, when I first discovered McQueen,
could I ever have dreamt that my little tribute to him would end up on the cover
of the The Sunday Times in his home town.
I seriously don't know what to say....
I'm so glad to be able to share it with yawl.
I hope you're having a wonderful Sunday.

I'm In Teen Vogue - Officially My Childhood Dreams have Come True!

Karlie Kloss on the cover of teen Vogue may 2010 Photo by patrick demarchelier article by Jan Keltner
Danny Roberts featured in may 2010 Teen Vogue Holding up his painting in his studio

OK SO....
Officially My Childhood Dreams have Come True!
I'm in Teen Vogue~!
So i have to say, out of all the Features i've had, i think i'm the most excited about this one!
No joke! i remember, back my junior year in high school, thinking
"It would be the Coolest thing ever to be Teen Vogue"
haha I was thinking that because i had my own clothing company in high school,
but it's so trippy that it actually happened!
haha Well thank you so much Teen Vogue,
and thank you to you all for being wonderful!
I pasted the article text below. :)
Oh and it's the lovely Karlie Kloss on the Cover! woot woot!

P.S. I know this is a little random... But i started a tumblr Page Called "Inside My Brain", Since Igor + André is Art, and The Dream Walking Society is for Inspiration, I thought i would do one that is more of a steady stream of consciousness :) hope you like it

"When Danny Roberts started drawing wide-eyed portraits of models back in art school, fashion served as “a doorway into a dream world” for the native Californian. Now 24, he has since walked right through it, embraced by the very insiders he depicts, including Karl Lagerfeld and plucked-from-the-runway beauties. “I look for people who have something I feel I can capture on paper,” Danny explains of his subjects. His next-big-thing status has led to industry friendships and coveted collaborations, like a recent partnership with creative powerhouse Gwen Stefani, who invited Danny to contribute artwork for her Harajuku Lovers line. “Getting that e-mail and discovering Gwen Stefani was reading my blog [Igor & Andr] was pretty bizarre,” admits the artist, who is anything but jaded by all the high-profile attention. “Seeing my bags in Bloomingdale’s was a trip. The day they came out, my whole family went and took pictures!” So how might he react to one day spotting his own fashion label in stores? Danny–who founded a T-shirt company as a teen and studied fashion design in college–hopes to find out. “The work I’m doing now is kind of a roundabout way of getting there. I’ll probably end up starting my own label eventually, but for now I’m keeping a notebook of clothing designs, just for fun.” –E.G. From TeenVogue

Fashion Artist and igor and andre founder danny roberts black and white self portrait

Hello friends,
How is your weekend going?
Mine was great!
We celebrated my mom's birthday,
and then had a family reunion today.
It was amazing seeing everyone.
Well for those of you who didn't see the Models.com article.
the painting above is the Self Portrait i did for them.
I have to say i think it's my favorite Self Portrait so far.
I really hope you like it! :)

P.S. Have you all seen Gossip Girl? Someone said they thought they saw my painting in Chuck Bass's room?
I've never seen the show and don't know who Chuck Bass is... but am dying to know if the painting was in there?
I think that would be funniest/coolest thing to see if it is in the background.

P.S.S. Thank you idiom row for the portrait you painted, you're amazing!

I actually started a new one trying the same process.... we shall see how it turns out tomorrow!

Under this pseudonym hides Danny Roberts, a 22-year-old young artist trained in fashion design and a lover of models, whose drawings have gone beyond the virtual world. Roberts has already collaborated with three labels, nothing surprising considering he started his own t-shirt company when he was 13! Who are his favorite iconic models? The Ward sister, Gemma and Sophie. Their look is from another world—innocent and sophisticated. Roberts, who has drawn more than one hundred versions of Gemma Ward and Lily Cole, notes Egon Shiele, Aubrey Beardsly, Irving Penn, and Steven Meisel as influences. He is a fan of vintage Vogue and Vanity Fair covers, and would love to collaborate with McQueen. What’s next? He’s illustrating a children’s book written by Sophie Ward, publishing his own book, making short films, a cd
